Upholsterer

Location: Hinckley
Salary: £28,080 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Upholsterer to join their manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to work within a busy production environment, producing high-quality upholstered furniture components to exact specifications.

The successful candidate will take pride in their craftsmanship, have excellent attention to detail, and be committed to delivering quality products within agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Upholster furniture components including headboards, seating, and fitted furniture units to required specifications.
• Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics, foams, and padding accurately.
• Assemble and install upholstery using hand and power tools, including staple guns and cutters.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and job sheets.
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
• Carry out quality inspections on completed work.
• Work closely with production and installation teams to meet production targets.
• Follow all health and safety procedures within the workshop.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organised workspace.

Skills & Experience Required

• No Qualifications required however 2 years previous experience in upholstery or furniture manufacturing required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to use upholstery tools and machinery safely and effectively.
• Good understanding of upholstery materials, fabrics, foams, and padding.
• Ability to interpret measurements and technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with bespoke or fitted furniture.
• Knowledge of modern upholstery techniques and materials.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or workshop setting.
