Inventory Coordinator
Location: Hinckley
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (07:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday)
Contract: Permanent
Overview
We are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to join our client’s team based in Hinckley. Reporting into the Operations function, you will play a key role in managing the availability and movement of orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments and consumables across warehouse, field and hospital locations. You will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, coordinating surgical set requirements and ensuring full product traceability in line with regulatory standards.
Working closely with internal teams, sales representatives and healthcare providers, you will help ensure products are available when and where they are needed to support scheduled procedures and urgent case requirements. This is a critical role that directly contributes to patient care and the delivery of a reliable, high-quality service to customers and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate stock levels for orthopaedic implants, instruments and consumables across warehouse locations, field stock and hospital consignment sites.
- Monitor inventory movements and ensure full product traceability along with conducting regular cycle counts and stock audits.
- Manage stock rotation and minimise losses due to expiry or obsolescence.
- Prepare, track and process orthopaedic instrument sets for scheduled surgeries, ensuring all sets are complete, correctly configured and available when required.
- Coordinate the return and replenishment of surgical instruments following procedures.
- Analyse historical usage, surgeon preferences and procedure schedules to forecast product demand and prevent shortages.
- Liaise with Head Office and suppliers to manage lead times, backorders and urgent replenishment requirements.
- Expedite critical orders to support customer and surgical requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and full traceability for regulated medical devices, including lot numbers and expiry dates.
- Produce reports on stock levels, product usage, expiry dates and consignment performance.
- Analyse trends and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Work closely with Sales Representatives, Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure product availability and effective case coverage.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in inventory control, logistics, warehouse or supply chain coordination ideally within the medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical or orthopaedic sector.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when managing products with multiple sizes, lot numbers and expiry dates.
- Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems (SAP, Oracle or similar).
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise urgent requirements.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem solving.
